Wontons

What you Need

Cutting Board and Carving Knife
Skillet (Frying Pan)
Baking Sheet (Cookie Sheet)

6 oz bulk pork sausage, browned

2 green onions, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon ginger root, grated

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cups Napa cabbage, finely diced

1 package (12 oz/qty 50) wonton wrappers

What to Do

Brown and break up sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat; discard excess grease.
Add remaining ingredients (except wonton wrappers); cook, stirring frequently, ~3 minutes; remove from heat; let cool.
Spoon ~1 teaspoon of this filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Brush the edges of the wonton with water; bring the corners together and press corners and sides; repeat until all filling is used.
Heat ~1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Fry When oil is hot, place the filled wontons upright in the skillet; when the bottoms are golden brown, flip the wontons to brown the tips; remove wontons to a paper towel. Repeat until the batch is complete.
Bake Preheat the oven to 325°F; grease or line a baking sheet
Place the filled wontons on the baking sheet; bake ~15 minutes, or until they the tips begin to brown.
There are at least six ways to fold a wonton; only one is presented here.
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder ≈ 1 clove pressed garlic ≈ ½ teaspoon minced garlic; 1 teaspoon of minced/grated fresh ginger ≈ ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
