Steamed Crab Legs

What you Need

Stock Pot
Tongs

4 (~2 lbs) snow crab leg clusters

What to do

What to Do

Put ~2 inches of water in a large stock pot and heat on high to a rolling boil.
Drop crab legs into stock pot; put on a tight lid; steam ~6 minutes to heat through.
Serve with melted or drawn butter for dipping; add lemon juice, seafood seasoning and/or garlic powder to your taste.
Use seafood utensils to crack open the claw on each cluster; start at the tip to separate the legs at each joint with your fingers, pulling the tendons with each break. The significant amount of meat is in the last and largest section of the leg; snap shell in half by hand.

Note
Melted and drawn butter Melted butter is exactly as it sounds, and can be melted on a stove-top or in a microwave. Drawn butter, also known as clarified butter, is butter you melt in a saucepan on medium heat; bring to a boil, and boil for ~1 minute. Set it aside and let the solids float to the top. Spoon off and discard solids; gently pour off the butter, trying to leave the watery fluid at the bottom.
