Ham and Cheese Sliders

What you Need

Bowl and Spoon
Whisk
Baking Pan

3 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

1 cup milk

½ teaspoon salt

⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon honey

12 slider buns

12 oz thinly sliced deli ham

8 oz Colby Jack cheese, shredded, or other cheese of choice

What to Do

Preheat oven to 400°F; coat a rectangular baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or line with aluminum foil.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat; add flour; whisk constantly, until roux forms.
Gradually add milk; whisking constantly; bring to a bubbly boil; continue to cook and stir until thickened, ~5 minutes.
Remove from heat; stir in salt and nutmeg; set aside.
Mix mustard and honey in a small bowl; set aside.
Melt reamaining tablespoon of butter.
Place bottom halves of rolls in prepared baking dish; spread evenly with honey/mustard mixture; place ~1 oz of ham, milk sauce, and cheese on the roll; place top roll halves on each.
Brush tops with melted butter; cover pan with aluminum foil.
Bake 8 minutes; remove foil; bake ~5 more minutes.
