Asian Beef Skewers

What you Need

Cutting Board and Carving Knife
Box Grater
Broiler Pan

1½ pounds beef flank, round, or sirloin steak, sliced thin against the grain; par-freeze the steak to make it easier to slice.

3 tablespoons hoisin sauce

3 tablespoons rice vinegar

¼ cup soy sauce

1 teaspoon honey

2 green onions, sliced thin

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

What to Do

Mix all ingredients except the beef in a small bowl.
Place the marinade mix and the beef slices in a resealable gallon storage bag or other container; seal and mix contents well.
Refrigerate the container 4-24 hours.
Save for later
Coat skewers with cooking oil.
Thread a skewer through each strip of beef; you may wish to wear nitrile gloves for this step.
Place skewers in a single layer on a broiler pan.
Broil skewers for ~3 minutes; turn over and broil ~3 minutes more.
This appetizer requires marinating 4-24 hours
⅛ teaspoon garlic powder ≈ 1 clove pressed garlic ≈ ½ teaspoon minced garlic; 1 teaspoon of minced/grated fresh ginger ≈ ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
